My oldest son had a sleep over this weekend, so my little guy got some time alone with his dad. They slept in, ate breakfast together, snuggled, and played! Just him and his dad (and mom sneaking up with the camera).

Week six is here, and I am joining over twenty photographers around the world to share with you some beautiful bokeh! According to Wikipedia bokeh is… “the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image”. Getting beautiful, creamy (and sometimes sparkly) bokeh is one of the things that truly makes me excited about photography! Here is an example of pretty bokeh in the background of a portrait session from this winter in Tucson.

This week, I am digging out some old photos. I just love the beautiful green bokeh I captured this fall while photographing my aunt’s beautiful jewelry line, Just Bliss. With the creamy bokeh in the background, her collection just sparkles in the sun!

Now take a virtual journey to Lakenheath, England and see Sarah Cambio’s beautiful bokeh.

My house is full of all things boy–legos, cars, dinosaurs, and blue. So it is always a treat to meet up with a little girl. This little one was all ready to pose in her pink ballet outfit! She sure is a sweet little Valentine!

Once again I am joining over twenty photographers from around the world in a weekly challenge! Make sure to follow the link at the end of the post to see what’s cooking on their blogs. I am surprised how much of a challenge this week was for me! I actually just took this photo this morning in depseration. The theme was your favorite food. And while I love food, this week was hectic and I didn’t make anything amazing that I would want to share with the blog world! I did discover some amazing brownies this week, but I might keep those to myself! I do find–being vegetarian– that is it hard to find some of my favorite meals in the middle of Wyoming! I miss the luxury of running to Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. I also miss a few of my favorite restaurants! But one of the things I miss the most is Starbuck’s! The nearest one is two hours away. But I pour my Cafe Verona in my Starbucks mug and pretend. Is coffee food? I think so!

Now head over to Williamsburgh, VA for a taste of Leah’s favorite food.

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone’s day is filled with a lot of love…and a lot of pink and red! I am excited to join my son’s first grade party, we are taking heart shaped sandwiches! I am also excited for my boys to handout the adorable wallet sized cards we made using their photos:)
My Valentine’s Day mini-sessions were a great success–and I have to thank all of my clients for being troopers with the arctic temps we had last week!! All of the mini-cards I put together and printed turned out adorable. I am a bit behind on sharing all of the cuteness…so let’s get started!

Once again I am joining over twenty wonderful photographers from around the world to post how we interpret the word {LOVE}. While my photos for this assignment are far from original, there is nothing in the world like the love I have for my family! One thing in particular I adore, is how much my two sons {LOVE} each other! The second my older son gets home from school, the two of them venture off to their room to whisper, plan and play. Logan wants to be just like his big brother, and James defends Logan anytime he get in trouble. I hope they continue to love each other this way as they get older! Make sure to click on the link below this post to see what the rest of the group calls love.

My Funny Valentines!

Now head over to see what Tabitha Park of Port Huron, Michigan calls love!!

I think I just captured my son’s first “stretch” to put his arm around a girl! Definitely going to have to save this one for when he really has a girlfriend! At least twenty years from now.

I am very excited about this yearly project I have embarked on with twenty other photographers from around the world! Please click on the link below my photos, to begin your tour through our blog circle. This week’s prompt for our blog circle is “journey”. Specifically a journey you’ve been on, your going on… or would like to go on. I immediately spun my globe and started a mental list of the various places I want to go (I am thinking journey=trip, I did not get too philisophical here, lol). My ideal vacation spots are numerous and all have one thing in common–warm and island! But, after waking up to -36 degrees yesterday, there is one place in particular I would like to pack up and head to immediately….Spring!
Now head over to Megan’s site to continue the journey!!

Brrrrr…we had a very cold night, -36 degrees is what I hear. My car would not start, so thanks to some wonderful friends who were willing to come by my house last minute before 8am, my boys were able to make it to school! After several attempts by to jump start my car throughout the morning, it finally got going. Although, I am a bit nervous to take it anywhere in case it doesn’t start up again!

Anyway, I had to cancel two of my Valentine’s Day sessions today due to the weather, so I spent a little bit of time cleaning up my hard drive and decided to post a few more pics of my sister and her greyhound Ally! My sister has been on a night shift a few times a week for nursing school. I haven’t been able to phone her during the day, in case she is asleep. I hear Ally hasn’t been too hapy with her sleeping during the day either….and barks to wake her up. Good luck Jessica!
