This little one is only a few months older than my almost four year old, but I swear she looks and acts several years older! I also think she looks a little bit like the next Natalie Portman! She wasn’t in the mood to do pics, so I asked if I could just take five–she counted with me and I love what we captured! Her mom is ordering the first photo as a large, metallic standout and I can’t wait to see how it turns out!!!

Another week, another fun assignment! Again, i am joining 20 other photographers from around the globe in a fifty two week project. Each week has a theme, and we all photograph our interpretation of the theme! This week we were to turn our lenses on manual focus–and purposely expose an image out of focus. I am sure I am not the only one who found this assignment a little akward. I have spent the last few years perfecting my focus and pretty much automatically delete any photo where I can’t count my subjects eyelashes. I am posting my image for the week–and two bonus images–I kind of enjoyed not worrying about focus–even though it was more difficult than it seemed!

Head over to Houston Texas and see what Linsey Stuckey has out of focus!

Spring Fever Giveaway Contests, please contact me with your mailing address at info@julielivermorephotography.com! I have a special prize for all of you!!

Even though we are expecting a little snow this week, it is definitely starting to feel like spring…well at least that spring is around the corner! The sun is out longer each day (more hours of the day for me to take photos!).

This shoot started outside–where we got some lovely wind to give us the perfect windblown look–but it quickly moved indoors! BRRRR! Luckily my model is beautiful inside and out!

Here I am at week nine of a year long journey, along with twenty other photographers from around the world! It has been fun not only capturing the weekly theme, but seeing how everyone else in the group interprets the themes. We started with self-portraits and have also covered themes ranging from love to journey. Thise week, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, we were to get outside and disover the GREEN–well, that was a bit challenging after waking up once again to snow in Wyoming!! So instead, I found three adorable red heads wearing shamrocks…and perhaps bringing me some good luck!

Check out talented Columbus, Georgia photographer Launa Valente‘s green!!

This week’s theme is dark. Specifically, to highlight a small part of a dark image with light. We are still in the middle of cold, dark winter, but with the sun rising earlier in the morning and setting later at night, there seems to be some light shining through the dark.
Now travel over to Leah’s page and see how she is lighting up the dark!

Where does time go? Seems like I was just doing this little man’s newborn pics! I love this age, so sweet and inncocent, yet with his own personality! Plus, he is sitting up, but can’t crawl or run away from the camera yet!!

This week I am joining over twenty other ladies from around the world in using light to paint an image. I have to admit, I almost didn’t participate, it has been too cold, grey, and snowy for me to take any subjects outside and play with light (which I love to do!). However, I did have this gorgeous sunset photo, where the dark stormy clouds made a beautiful break for the light to shine through.

See what the talented Rachel May, photographer from Fredericksburg, Virginia has done with light this week!

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a photographer for Inspiration Through Art! If you have a child, or know of a child, who suffers from a serious illness or life altering disability, please check out their website. Click on the Heros link to see some beautiful photos and stories of real heroes!

This organization has a special place in my heart. My son Logan was born perfectly healthy and weighed a whopping 8lbs 14oz. A week after we brought him home, we got a call from the hospital that his newborn screening was abnormal and we had to get further testing. Logan was diagnosed with Medium-Chain Acyl-Coenzyme A Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MCAD). This condition prevents him from converting some fats to energy, especially during periods of fasting or illness. Complications of MCAD include seizures, breathing difficulties, liver problems, brain damage, coma, and sudden death. His geneticist says that Logan’s gene pattern is a bit different than most kids he sees with MCAD, and if we are lucky he may be asymptomatic, but until he has his first episode, we don’t know. We count our blessings everyday that he seems to be asymptomatic, but we are also very dillegent about not allowing him to go without eating or a bedtime snack and keeping a glucometer close on hand.

Though he appears to be healthy, his diagnosis has changed our lives in many ways, including me leaving my career to be home with him. Shortly after, my husband lost his job and we ended up leaving our home in Arizona and moving to Wyoming. At times all the transitions have been chaotic, but I have been able to enjoy precious time at home with both my sons and persue my passion for photography. I also want to thank all the people who have kept Logan close to their heart!

I am excited to donate my time to Inspiration Through Art, as all the children (and their parents) that have to battle serious illness on a daily basis are truly my heros. I am excited to meet these little heros and share their stories!
