Well, it was bound to happen! I missed a week of my 52 week project. It couldn’t have been a more appropriate week to skip. The weekly theme was “sacrifice”! And after editing a wedding and driving to Denver to pick up my sister and nephew for a fun visit–I had to sacrifice my weekly post. Back on track now, this week’s theme is “sleep”, specifically, “where do you sleep?”.

This is where I sleep. At least I start out there. At about 6am every morning, I am pushed out or over by this little guy. I can’t say I mind one bit. My baby is almost four–and I am going to snuggle him every second I get.

Please continue through the blog circle to see what all the talented photographers in our group have captured this week!!! First up, Leah from Birth Express in Hampton Roads, VA.

Here are a few photographs from the wedding I photographed recently. It was a bit chilly out, but we still managed to take advantage of the beautiful setting at Elk Mountain and get some outdoor portraits. The couple radiated happiness and the whole event was relaxed and joyful! Aren’t the bride’s daughters, just too cute? Congratulations!

This week, myself, along with 20 other photographers around the world, are sharing images of nature. Actually, I am complete cheating this week and sharing some images from last July. The theme “Nature: Spring should be in full boom – what is beautiful in your view?” sounded great, until I had to scrape a foot of snow of my car, while visiting my husband (who was working in a town less than two hours away). So much for Spring Break!! Living at an altitude of almost 7,000 feet can lead to some crazy springtime weather!! So here are some beautiful summertime wildflowers from the Snowy Range!

Now visit Lorrin of Itty Bitty Photography, to see what is beautiful in her hometown!

Last summer, I watched this little miss for a few weeks until her daycare had an opening. She was still crawling and drinking her bottle! Now she is running after the big kids and can reach the table for her snack. I watch her for just a few hours every few weeks, and her favorite activity is to walk up and down my stairs–over and over again!! She is moving next week, and I will miss her cute little blonde head and silly personality! Come back and visit us!

Each Friday, I join twenty ladies from around the world in photographing a particular theme. Themes in the past have been Out of Focus, Food, and Journey. Today we are capturing our pets! My boys would love to have a puppy! In fact, my three year old often pretends he is our family dog. But in the meantime, this collection of dogs will have to do. My son loves lining things up and counting them…which is just what he did when I asked him to bring me his puppies.

“It’s a pillow, it’s a pet, it’s a pillow pet”! Sorry, that song immediately gets stuck in my head when I look at these photos.

Head over to Tamara’s blog…and then continue through the links to see what everyone captured for the theme pets!!

My son’s first grade teacher just sent home a note with sentences written about each child by other classmates. It was so precious to see what the other kids said about my oldest son! My favorite was “James is really, really, really, really cool. He is never mean to me. He is my best bud. He never lets you down. He is awesome. He is smart and always pays attention”. The two most common adjectives were smart and funny. There were also a few cute comments about his red hair!!

Here (in photos) is what I would say about James!

My sister (Happy Birthday Amy) and her son are coming to visit us in Rawlins, Wyoming–in a few weeks!! They will be flying in an airplane (as opposed to running as this photo suggests). I hope they are prepared to leave nice sunny Tucson, AZ–and bundle up! It is 16 degrees as I type this–and feel like -1–and yes it is April! Last year we played in the snow and jumped in the hottub–and my seven year old will never forget the awesome snowball fight! I overlooked this photo last of my nephew last summer–it definitely breaks some photography rules–but I have come to realize some rules are meant to be broken–and that makes me love it even more!

EDITED TO ADD: This is not a trampoline–this is my son being thrown into the pool by his dad:)!

Yup, in honor of April Fool’s Day, we were to create an image that may look like one thing but in reality is another!! I am really anxious to see what the other photographers in the group came up with. I thought about doing a macro (close-up) shot of something around the house, but I was looking through some pics of last summer and just had to post this one of my son “flying”!

Fly on over to Australia and see what the amazing Lucy Jane has for you!!!
