After days and days of clouds, rain, and wind, it was wonderful to get a beautiful evening of sunlight! What better way to spend the evening than taking photos of a lovely girl in a golden dress. I hope we have many more days like this to come!!

Once again, I am joining fifteen other photographers from around the world in photographing a weekly theme. Sadly, I missed last week…I was just plain busy! This week wasn’t much different, so I didn’t get the chance to photograph the solemn and poignant photo I had in mind for the theme of Memorial Day–which to me is a day of remembrence of the U.S. citizens who have died in service. But, last night, going through images on my computer, I found one that I thought represented the holiday in a different light. I hope it reflects the begining of summer, the great American pasttime, the colors red and blue, and the promise of making memories with your friends and family!

I was honored to be part of this little one’s special day! She cried a little when the water was being poured, but I love the expression of love and trust on her face as she looks up at her mom and godparents. She did so well during her baptism, but was a bit tired after, so we are going to do a few more portraits outdoors (if it ever stops raining)…so stay tuned for more of her cute little self.

I was so excited to get the opportunity to travel to Utah and capture a great friend and her beautiful family!! We were lucky enough to find a spot with some beautiful blossoming trees, some water, and green grass. Spring is in full bloom for them, and it was a bit disappointing to return to cold and windy Wyoming! Here are just a few of the many “keepers” and I can’t wait for them to see the rest.

This Friday, the theme is your favorite flower (assuming, perhaps, some mothers had leftover bouquets from Mother’s Day). My eyes had skipped ahead a few weeks, so I realized in the middle of the day that the photo I had ready for tomorrow was not for this week’s theme. I had to get some flowers…and fast. I mentioned this to my three year old who immediately came up with the solution. And to be honest, any flower given to me by one of my sons is my favorite flower in the world!
Make sure to see what Leah from Birth Express has captured this week!!

Week 16 of the 52 week project I am doing along with fifteen or so other photographers from around the world!! Previous topics have been “fooled ya” and out of focus. This week’s theme is “Motherly Love: Your mom, Are you a mom? Another mother figure in your life?”.
My photo is pretty straightfoward…I had my husband take a quick shot of me and my two boys all dressed up on Easter. It wasn’t a very thought out pic, but it is the only recent one I have of the three of us! Being a mom is by far the best job I have ever had–and the most exhausting. My husband travels often for work, so sometimes I am “at work” more than I would like, but I am lucky to be blessed with two fun, loving, and sweet boy that make me laugh all the time–like when my seven year old just asked “why is there is no color in this picture, it looks like a picture from 1977 when cameras were invented”.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful moms out there…and head on to see what Lynn of Bugsmom Photography in NJ has in store.

Just a few snaps of my nephew, while he was here to visit us from Tucson, AZ! We had a great week–but it was a bit chilly/windy/snowy/rainy out, so we didn’t do any formal pictures. Plus, he was way too busy playing with my boys. I know, he looks like he is all dressed up for a session. This is just how he dresses. I asked him if he always wears a tie–and he replied, “Yes, you know why? Because I like looking handsome, it is my favorite”. Taking pictures of you in your tie is my favorite!
