I was so excited to get the opportunity to travel to Utah and capture a great friend and her beautiful family!! We were lucky enough to find a spot with some beautiful blossoming trees, some water, and green grass. Spring is in full bloom for them, and it was a bit disappointing to return to cold and windy Wyoming! Here are just a few of the many “keepers” and I can’t wait for them to see the rest.

Brrrrr…we had a very cold night, -36 degrees is what I hear. My car would not start, so thanks to some wonderful friends who were willing to come by my house last minute before 8am, my boys were able to make it to school! After several attempts by to jump start my car throughout the morning, it finally got going. Although, I am a bit nervous to take it anywhere in case it doesn’t start up again!
Anyway, I had to cancel two of my Valentine’s Day sessions today due to the weather, so I spent a little bit of time cleaning up my hard drive and decided to post a few more pics of my sister and her greyhound Ally! My sister has been on a night shift a few times a week for nursing school. I haven’t been able to phone her during the day, in case she is asleep. I hear Ally hasn’t been too hapy with her sleeping during the day either….and barks to wake her up. Good luck Jessica!

I have joined a group of twenty wonderful photographers, in another 52 week project. Each week there is a different theme to help us stretch our creativity and express our love for photography. The fun thing about this project is that under my post will be a link to another photographer, who will also link to another photographer until it brings you full circle back to here! It is an incredible idea, and I am thrilled to be a part of this group of amazing ladies. Don’t miss out, be sure to keep clicking!
This weeks theme is a self-portrait. Anyone who knows me, knows that this is extremely uncomfortable for me. Isn’t the whole point of being a photographer to not be in the photos?? Let alone post them for the world to see. As uncomfortable as it is, it didn’t take me long to decide how to photograph myself. Sitting on the couch reading a magazine with a stack of my favorite books and a cup of coffee nearby. I am not laying on the couch because at any minute one of my two boys will inevitably interrupt me, and I will have to abandon this moment! This photo was fun to take, I just set my camera on the kitchen table and used my new remote to trigger the shutter!
Everyone’s posts should be up by this evening, head to Launa Valente Photography to begin the tour!

One of my photography goals this year is to shoot more creatively! And as the New Year approached, with temperatures hovering at zero and darkness inside and out, I honestly didn’t feel too motivated to create anything. However, a few of my favorite photography blogs mentioned starting weekly projects for the New Year. I have joined a Project 52 led by Sandi Bradshaw, taking a photo a week with a specific topic (this week is a self-portrait). You can see all the entries on Sandi’s Facebook page. Happy Week One!

I had the opportunity to photograph my youngest sister and her greyhound, Ally, while we were in Tucson this winter. Jessica and her husband live in San Diego, so it was a treat to be able to spend quality time with her this winter. We had fun getting coffee, trying on make-up, and playing with all the boy/nephews. We didn’t have a lot of room to capture the true Ally (running) off her leash, but we sure had fun, and Jessica makes a gorgeous model!
