I am taking a moment today to reflect on 2011. It has truly been a wonderful year in many ways, and I would like to thank my family, friends, and clients (some people fit more than one category!) for your support this year. I truly appreciate everytime you take the time to comment or view my page. I still have a lot of growing to do, but all the beautiful compliments I receive really keep me going when I doubt myself. I want to share some of my favorite 2011 moments with you today.
There is something so special about capturing the first precious weeks of life. Truly, what a miracle!

I was especially excited to be able to meet my nephew Miles in California, and take his photos when he was just 5 days old.

I love photographing babies as their personalities really start shining through. And especially being able to photograph a sweet friend who is also a photographer.

I got a question this year, why are most of my client redheads? Well, that is not exactly true, but the ones I did capture were memorable–and pretty darn cute!

One of my favorite thing to capture as a photographer is the interaction between siblings. Having two boys of my own, I think it is interesting how different sibling relationships can be.

Another favorite relationship to cature is parents with their children, I love all the unposed playful, serious, and loving moments!

All the loving families and parents that were so patient with their children really touched my heart!

I also enjoyed getting to take individual portraits. I love being able to capture someone’s personality…and I try to avoid the dreaded cheesy smile.

As much as I enjoy working with children and families, some of my favorite sessions this year were with the Rawlins High School seniors! What a lovely group of kids, and I wish them all success as they enter 2012, their graduating year! Because I could not narrow them down…an image from my first senior session and from my last.

I had the honor to photograph several wedding this year! It is wonderful to be able to capture all the special moments and details of a couple’s day. 2011 marks the year of a dream coming true! My best friend, Michelle, and I have dreamed for years of having a business together…and when we started brainstorming ideas, wedding photographer was at the top of the list! It was so fun to capture this wedding together.

And a big thanks to my wonderful husband for supporting me in pursuing my dream of becoming a photographer–and went so far as second shooting the wedding below with me this summer! I couldn’t have done any of this without him! I love you!

Finally, thanks to my boys, who let me practice on them daily…and go quietly to play together when I am editing galleries and doing behind the scene work. I love you boys!

While this post is already MUCH longer than I intended (I was shooting for the top 11 of 2011), I still feel sad for all the images in my “favorites” folder that I am not posting! Hopefully my clients are enjoying them on their own walls instead! Thank you for revisiting 2011 with me! I hope to capture some of your special moments in 2012.
Happy New Year!

Spring Fever Giveaway Contests, please contact me with your mailing address at info@julielivermorephotography.com! I have a special prize for all of you!!
Even though we are expecting a little snow this week, it is definitely starting to feel like spring…well at least that spring is around the corner! The sun is out longer each day (more hours of the day for me to take photos!).
This shoot started outside–where we got some lovely wind to give us the perfect windblown look–but it quickly moved indoors! BRRRR! Luckily my model is beautiful inside and out!

I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a photographer for Inspiration Through Art! If you have a child, or know of a child, who suffers from a serious illness or life altering disability, please check out their website. Click on the Heros link to see some beautiful photos and stories of real heroes!
This organization has a special place in my heart. My son Logan was born perfectly healthy and weighed a whopping 8lbs 14oz. A week after we brought him home, we got a call from the hospital that his newborn screening was abnormal and we had to get further testing. Logan was diagnosed with Medium-Chain Acyl-Coenzyme A Dehydrogenase Deficiency (MCAD). This condition prevents him from converting some fats to energy, especially during periods of fasting or illness. Complications of MCAD include seizures, breathing difficulties, liver problems, brain damage, coma, and sudden death. His geneticist says that Logan’s gene pattern is a bit different than most kids he sees with MCAD, and if we are lucky he may be asymptomatic, but until he has his first episode, we don’t know. We count our blessings everyday that he seems to be asymptomatic, but we are also very dillegent about not allowing him to go without eating or a bedtime snack and keeping a glucometer close on hand.
Though he appears to be healthy, his diagnosis has changed our lives in many ways, including me leaving my career to be home with him. Shortly after, my husband lost his job and we ended up leaving our home in Arizona and moving to Wyoming. At times all the transitions have been chaotic, but I have been able to enjoy precious time at home with both my sons and persue my passion for photography. I also want to thank all the people who have kept Logan close to their heart!
I am excited to donate my time to Inspiration Through Art, as all the children (and their parents) that have to battle serious illness on a daily basis are truly my heros. I am excited to meet these little heros and share their stories!

One of my photography goals this year is to shoot more creatively! And as the New Year approached, with temperatures hovering at zero and darkness inside and out, I honestly didn’t feel too motivated to create anything. However, a few of my favorite photography blogs mentioned starting weekly projects for the New Year. I have joined a Project 52 led by Sandi Bradshaw, taking a photo a week with a specific topic (this week is a self-portrait). You can see all the entries on Sandi’s Facebook page. Happy Week One!

What a wonderful year! I have been very blessed this year and want to say a big thank you to all the people who have supported me and my photography business this year! It is impossible for me to pick my favorite photos from 2010, as I have worked with so many beautiful families, seniors, and children. So in lieu of favorites, here are a few highlights of my year!
A few new men in my life!

Spent a lot of time chasing cute kids!

Captured beautiful girls and grads.

Met fellow photogs who inspire me!

Spent time with loving families.

A visit from a friend who found it worth it to drive 18 hours to see me!!

Saw some adoring brothers (including my own two boys)!

Explored the beauty of Wyoming with my family this summer!

What a fun, exciting year 2010 was! Thanks again to my family, friends, and amazing, beautiful clients for your continued support! I can’t wait to see what 2011 has in store.

Welcome to my new blog site! I have juggled my website and blog for a few months now, but found I wasn’t very good at keeping them both, plus my FB fan page updated, so I have consolidated! With all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, I am glad I am getting a head start on my New Year’s resolution of keeping things simple! Update your RSS feeders if you want to continue and follow the blog! For those looking for my older work, go here!
