I loved this session so much!! First, I had the opportunity to meet another Tucson, AZ photographer (http://www.knissleyphotography.com/) and second, I got to visit one of my favorite spots in Tucson, that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise made time to see as our Spring Break went by way too fast! Thanks Nissley family for the fun afternoon, I hope to see you next time I am in Tucson, AZ!

Tucson, AZ clients, I will have limited June sessions at a special rate! Please contact me as soon as possible to schedule.

A few more photos from a beautiful spring like night here in Rawlins, WY! The best thing about springing forward, is being able to enjoy the sunshine a little bit longer each day! And living in windy Wyoming, you just got to embrace the windblown hair.

For the 52 week project I am participating in, the theme for week three is Imagine. Although I have countless images of my boys using their imaginations to play around the house, I had to share this image from our trip to San Diego. Something about the vastness of the ocean, really makes one imagine all the possibility out in the world!

Make sure to check out all the other Imagine images by clicking HERE.

I am taking a moment today to reflect on 2011. It has truly been a wonderful year in many ways, and I would like to thank my family, friends, and clients (some people fit more than one category!) for your support this year. I truly appreciate everytime you take the time to comment or view my page. I still have a lot of growing to do, but all the beautiful compliments I receive really keep me going when I doubt myself. I want to share some of my favorite 2011 moments with you today.

There is something so special about capturing the first precious weeks of life. Truly, what a miracle!

I was especially excited to be able to meet my nephew Miles in California, and take his photos when he was just 5 days old.

I love photographing babies as their personalities really start shining through. And especially being able to photograph a sweet friend who is also a photographer.

I got a question this year, why are most of my client redheads? Well, that is not exactly true, but the ones I did capture were memorable–and pretty darn cute!

One of my favorite thing to capture as a photographer is the interaction between siblings. Having two boys of my own, I think it is interesting how different sibling relationships can be.

Another favorite relationship to cature is parents with their children, I love all the unposed playful, serious, and loving moments!

All the loving families and parents that were so patient with their children really touched my heart!

I also enjoyed getting to take individual portraits. I love being able to capture someone’s personality…and I try to avoid the dreaded cheesy smile.

As much as I enjoy working with children and families, some of my favorite sessions this year were with the Rawlins High School seniors! What a lovely group of kids, and I wish them all success as they enter 2012, their graduating year! Because I could not narrow them down…an image from my first senior session and from my last.

I had the honor to photograph several wedding this year! It is wonderful to be able to capture all the special moments and details of a couple’s day. 2011 marks the year of a dream coming true! My best friend, Michelle, and I have dreamed for years of having a business together…and when we started brainstorming ideas, wedding photographer was at the top of the list! It was so fun to capture this wedding together.

And a big thanks to my wonderful husband for supporting me in pursuing my dream of becoming a photographer–and went so far as second shooting the wedding below with me this summer! I couldn’t have done any of this without him! I love you!

Finally, thanks to my boys, who let me practice on them daily…and go quietly to play together when I am editing galleries and doing behind the scene work. I love you boys!

While this post is already MUCH longer than I intended (I was shooting for the top 11 of 2011), I still feel sad for all the images in my “favorites” folder that I am not posting! Hopefully my clients are enjoying them on their own walls instead! Thank you for revisiting 2011 with me! I hope to capture some of your special moments in 2012.

Happy New Year!

It was such a pleasure to photograph one of my friends and fellow Wyoming photographers. Originally, we had decided on taking her photos up in the mountains with all the amazing wildflowers–well, between weather and both of our busy client schedules, it took us several months to finally get together. I think it was worth the wait, I love the golden sun and leaves in these photos. However, our session was abruptly ended when a huge dumptruck of rocks arrived at their place–how can I compete for the attention of three little boys with a dumptruck! Luckily, Kate wasn’t interested in many formal, posed photos. She wanted to capture a little bit of her everyday life with three boys. It was a fun night!

Photographing fellow photographers is always flattering and a little intimidating. I love that we can experiment and talk f/stops and shutter speeds without sounding crazy. Kate and I both have all boys, so we attempted to get some photos of us with our boys–since photographers are notorious for not stepping behind the lens. Well, our five boys had little interest in taking photos when there was so much to explore. So there was more playing than picture taking, but the light was beautifully golden, so the moms were happy too.

This Friday, the theme is your favorite flower (assuming, perhaps, some mothers had leftover bouquets from Mother’s Day). My eyes had skipped ahead a few weeks, so I realized in the middle of the day that the photo I had ready for tomorrow was not for this week’s theme. I had to get some flowers…and fast. I mentioned this to my three year old who immediately came up with the solution. And to be honest, any flower given to me by one of my sons is my favorite flower in the world!

Make sure to see what Leah from Birth Express has captured this week!!

This week, myself, along with 20 other photographers around the world, are sharing images of nature. Actually, I am complete cheating this week and sharing some images from last July. The theme “Nature: Spring should be in full boom – what is beautiful in your view?” sounded great, until I had to scrape a foot of snow of my car, while visiting my husband (who was working in a town less than two hours away). So much for Spring Break!! Living at an altitude of almost 7,000 feet can lead to some crazy springtime weather!! So here are some beautiful summertime wildflowers from the Snowy Range!

Now visit Lorrin of Itty Bitty Photography, to see what is beautiful in her hometown!

This week I am joining over twenty other ladies from around the world in using light to paint an image. I have to admit, I almost didn’t participate, it has been too cold, grey, and snowy for me to take any subjects outside and play with light (which I love to do!). However, I did have this gorgeous sunset photo, where the dark stormy clouds made a beautiful break for the light to shine through.

See what the talented Rachel May, photographer from Fredericksburg, Virginia has done with light this week!

I am very excited about this yearly project I have embarked on with twenty other photographers from around the world! Please click on the link below my photos, to begin your tour through our blog circle. This week’s prompt for our blog circle is “journey”. Specifically a journey you’ve been on, your going on… or would like to go on. I immediately spun my globe and started a mental list of the various places I want to go (I am thinking journey=trip, I did not get too philisophical here, lol). My ideal vacation spots are numerous and all have one thing in common–warm and island! But, after waking up to -36 degrees yesterday, there is one place in particular I would like to pack up and head to immediately….Spring!
Now head over to Megan’s site to continue the journey!!
