i did not see this last week, but what a special treasure. the boots, hats and grandpa lee being proud and loving. it does not matter about the fstop, your sons shirt, the memory that you captured will be treasured forever. great shot, prefect.

We have been thinking of your family since last week and our prayers are with you all as you honor your Grandpa this weekend. May your memories come back as vividly as this photo with miles of smiles always.

What a treasure... And what a great reminder to print photos. I'm so bad about doing that with our personal photos. Thank you for the inspiration.

I don't think this picture could have been any more perfect if you had tried. The expression on your son's face, his connection to his roots via the big boots and the way he's touching his hat, your grandfather connecting with your son, the suspenders, belt buckle, and the creases in your grandfather's jeans. (Creases in a farmer's jeans?) I know how difficult it is to lose a grandfather who's been a presence for your entire life and I'm very sorry for your loss. I know this shot will bring a rush of memories every time you look at it and will be the perfect catalyst for Grandpa Lee stories.

Wow, what a wonderful story to accompany this most treasured photos. What a wonderful man your grandfather must have been. I think photographers so often get caught up in creating the most perfectly, well-composed image, when what matters most is what's in the image itself. Beautifully done!

Julie, what a beautiful picture! I'm sorry for the loss of this very special man and grandfather. Your children are blessed to have known this giant of a man. I'd like to share some thoughts about Lee for you.

Lee became one of my favorite people after getting more acquainted with him at a family reunion in Colorado in about 1991. I'm a great-niece and was raised as his half-brother's granddaughter. We visited he and Donna several times after that. He would always say "How ya doin' little lady?" Just like John Wayne.... Being with him has always been like being transported to another time ... a time when cowboys like him help us remember our manners and who exhibit a well being that can't be compared in the least to spa vacations. It is a connection to goodness that is pure, neighborly, and ambles through a serenity like that of the trees rustling and the flies buzzing along the Little Snake River Valley in Wyoming where Lee & Donna called home. I will miss him and I'm very happy that as cousins, we have completed the circle of our ancestory.
