I am so happy to have worked with this amazing family! They have a very inspiring and courageous story. I was thinking about our session as I looked for parking in the RiNo area. I ended up down a street I had never seen before and found the “nothing without courage” mural by artist Zach Yarrington. It reminds me of a Brene Brown quote I love, “You can choose courage, or you can choose comfort, but you cannot choose both”. So much truth to those simple words in both love and life!
This session was fun for me, as the boys are the exact same ages as my own. A few years ago, I would have probably dreaded working with teenage boys. Even when I had my own kids, I never thought about the fact that one day they would be teens. Now that my oldest is a teen, I have to say, this age is pretty great. I will always miss having my babies in my arms, but in a way each new age has been my favorite. Teens are silly, inspiring, strong, open-minded and really excited about the future. That being said, I am squeezing my 10 year old for as long as he well let me.
