The fall season is filled photographing families, but it also kicks off the most magical time of year. Especially with children. This time of year brings fun activities, yearly traditions, and extra yummy treats.
Fall traditions: Every year we go to the pumpkin patch. The adults enjoy it almost as much as the kids. A favorite of ours is Anderson Farms. There are animals, a corn maze, a tire mountain to climb, a pumpkin cannon, pedal go karts, and a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch! Not to mention, plenty of concessions and food venders.
Rock Creek Farm has plenty of pumpkins, animals and a fun corn maze to explore!
Jessica, her mom, and her sister have a tradition of making pumpkin bread. It is one of their favorite fall activities.
Pumpkin bread Recipe:
3 cups of flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 eggs
2 cups of sugar
1 can of pumpkin
1- ¼ cups of vegetable oil
¾ cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
½ cups of white chocolate chips
½ cup of fresh cranberries
In a large bowl combine the flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, pumpkin and oil. Stir into dry ingredients. Fold in cranberries and chocolate chips. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour, or until a toothpick comes out clean and it is baked through. It makes 2 loaves.
Halloween Fun: Is halloween week complete without carving pumpkins and watching Halloween movies? Some of our favorite movies to watch this time of year are Hocus Pocus and Casper!
Young children will enjoy the Halloween train at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. Adults will enjoy walking around the picturesque downtown area filled with plenty of restaurants and patios.
