Colorado Photographer | Mom and Son Photos

When you think of locations as a Colorado photographer, a mountain view immediately comes to mind. It is however tough to find the perfect open space that isn’t too close or too far from those majestic views. Luckily this little gem of a spot is just 15 minutes from my home. The bright light can be unforgiving, but as soon as golden hour hits magic happens!
In addition to beautiful mountains, I have been very inspired by photographing older kids lately. I love all my young families, but as children get older, milestone sessions giveaway to annual holiday card photos and then sporadic or no professional photos at all. This mom certainly values photos of her (newly) teen son. She forgoes cheesy school photos and saves up for professional portraits. As a mom of a son her age, I know how hard it is to convince them to get in the frame (let alone with their mom!). But no matter how old our children get, as moms we just treasure these moments. And hopefully someday our sons look back and see just how much we love them (and that they are worth being photographed each year!).
