Being a mom of two boys has been the greatest blessing of my life. I adore both of them so much, and love spending one and one time with them. This kid, he just gets me. In exchange for a very small treat, he agreed to let me test out a new location and play around with natural light (and a few lenses I don’t always reach for). Not only does he take his job as a model seriously (dressing nice and gelling his hair just so) he also gets into the project, asking interesting questions and suggesting fun compositions and poses. Posing inspiration for boys this age is hard to find. As a boy mom, I find many resources for photographers completely ignore school age boys! If you are a mom of a boy, don’t let this discourage you from getting photos of your child. I know it’s not always easy to talk boys this age into being photographed (my older son for example needs more bribing and encouragement than this guy), but having these images to remember this awesome time between toddlerhood and the teenage years is so important.
