Denver First Birthday Photographer | My approach to First Birthday Photos

As a Denver First Birthday Photographer, I love when families contact me to capture this milestone! My approach to one year photos is quite simple. I want to take beautiful, timeless images that capture how it feels to reach this milestone. First birthdays are bittersweet…gone is your sweet, squishy newborn, but so are those sleepless nights. Hours spent cuddling turn into hours spent playing and chasing. Fun and quirky little personalities emerge…and cute little new teeth too! And my favorite image from first year sessions…those tiny first steps!! Some babies are already walking around a year old..and some (like my youngest son who walked at 17 months) aren’t even close. But it’s so sweet to see their smiles of independence as they stand holding both of their parent’s hands. And finally, most of our sessions end with a bit of cuddling close to mom or dad. What about a cake smash? You are definitely welcome to bring along a cake and stand to finish up our time together. What’s better than eating cake outdoors! Just don’t forget some wipes and a change of clothes! The cake is cute and fun, but at the end of the day I want you to have portraits like the one below to remember this time!
