I was so excited to see baby Elliot for her half year photos! Her mom posts the cutest pics on social media, and I had been waiting to see those cute red curls in person! She was teething and we were getting close to bedtime, but Elliot loves playing outside and observing the leaves blowing in the wind. She also loves when her dad plays her songs on the guitar. The guitar belonged to mom’s father who has passed, and it is a treasured heirloom they bring to every session…including their love filled maternity session. I don’t bring props in order to keep your images timeless and centered on your family’s connection. However, you are more than welcome to incorporate your own meaningful items into your family’s photo session.
Here are some items that work well at a lifestyle newborn or family session.
1. Handmade quilts, knitted items or blankets gifted with love
2. Jewelry or a watch from a loved one
3. Childhood toys such old trucks, wooden blocks, dolls or vintage books
4. Musical instruments played by yourself or family members
5. Vintage photographs or letters
Scroll down to see how we incorporated Elliot’s grandfather’s guitar in their session at McKay Lake in Broomfield. I am already counting down to her first birthday when I get to work with this sweet family again.
