As a Broomfield family photographer, I photograph children of all ages..from a few days old to high school seniors! Many parents worry about picking the perfect age to schedule family photos. For newborns, I always recommend scheduling a session in the first few weeks of life. The newborn phase is so fleeting, it’s such a beautiful time to capture. After that, babies hit so many fun milestones. Many of my families love to schedule a session just after their baby is sitting up on their own. I absolutely love this age. Babies this age are quick to smile and have the cutest round cheeks. Parents are finally in an easy routine (and usually getting more sleep). And in the case of this sweet baby girl…they are still cuddly and love to be held by mom and dad. After a sitting session…the countdown will be on to first year photos…and then most families do annual photos after that! So while there is no right or wrong time to photograph your baby, I recommend newborn, sitting and first year sessions as three great milestones to photograph!
