Worried About Weather for Your Colorado Family Photos?
If you’ve ever looked at the forecast before your family photo session and thought, “Oh no. What are we going to do if the weather is terrible?”, you are definitely not alone.
But as a Colorado family photographer, I’ve learned not to panic at the first sign of wind, clouds, or questionable weather. In fact, some of my favorite outdoor family photography sessions in Colorado have happened on evenings that looked far from perfect.
This family of four showed up to their Colorado family photo session with dark, dramatic clouds overhead and plenty of wind. And, of course, their adorable Bernadoodle was along for the adventure.
Instead of worrying about everything being perfectly calm and sunny, they embraced the evening exactly as it was. We played, moved around, laughed, and let the wind do its thing. The dramatic clouds created gorgeous depth in the sky, and the soft light that followed made everything feel a little bit magical.
That’s one of the things I love about family photography in Colorado. The weather can change quickly, and sometimes the conditions you were worried about are exactly what make your photos feel special.
