I first met this family when Oliver was a newborn! This family of three lives in a really great part of Denver with tons of great restaurants and vibrant murals. So in the past, most of our sessions have been downtown! This time we ventured out towards the mountains for Oliver’s first birthday photos! As a Denver first birthday photographer, I love capturing authentic moments. One of my favorite moments to capture is “baby’s first steps” (or whatever current stage of movement your baby is at!). Oliver was so close to walking…and it a was a truly special moment to capture some tentative first steps. He started off holding both of his parent’s hands firmly, and then started to brave a few steps back and forth between his mom and dad’s arms. He was so excited and proud of himself! And his parent’s faces lit up with joy and his accomplishment! I still feel this way as my older kid’s learn and achieve new things. Such a special part of parenthood…watching our kids learn and grow! On a side note…how awesome are their hand-knit Icelandic sweaters. Mom’s family is from Iceland and her mom made these gorgeous matching sweaters!
